Abstract: Vocabulary acquisition is recognized as an important factor in second language learning. However, mastering English vocabulary is always a challenge for learners. On that account, the study entitled “An investigation into strategies to learning English vocabulary of first-year Non-English majored students at a University in Mekong Delta” was conducted. This study aims to identify vocabulary learning strategies frequently-used by first-year Non-English majored students at a University in Mekong Delta and how do these students evaluate the importance of learning English vocabulary by using strategies. As a part of the study, 82 first-year students from Tourism and Graphic Design classes of course 18 have been selected as the participants. The questionnaire and the interview were employed as two primary research instruments to analyze data amassed. The findings of the study show that the overall vocabulary learning strategies of students at a University in MeKong Delta are related to Note-taking, Memorization, Cognitive, and Dictionary strategies, respectively; these techniques were well-liked and frequently used by the students.
