Abstract: | The study titled "ENGLISH LANGUAGE USE IN PROFESSIONAL SETTINGS AMONG VIETNAMESE GRADUATES" investigated the proficiency, frequency of use, and challenges associated with English language use among Vietnamese graduates. Employing a mixed-methods approach with 30 participants, the research combined quantitative questionnaires and qualitative semi-structured interviews. Findings revealed that proficiency in English significantly impacted career advancement, job performance, and professional relationships. Many respondents viewed English skills as essential for their career progression and daily job tasks, enhancing performance and workflow. Additionally, proficiency in English increased professional relationships, particularly in global industries, though this varied by job role. The study underscored the need for practical English communication skills in education and continuous language training in the workplace. Despite the small sample size and reliance on self-reported data, the study offered valuable insights. Recommendations included enhancing educational language programs, investing in professional development, and supporting language proficiency initiatives to boost the competitiveness of the Vietnamese workforce in the global economy. |
