This study explores the challenges and significance of creating an English-only environment for second language learners of English. A sample of 85 English learners, including university and high school students in Can Tho, were selected as participants. The study employed both a questionnaire and an interview with three native speaker teachers to collect and analyze data. The findings highlight the problems faced by English learners and identify the key elements necessary to create and implement an effective English-only learning environment, including thinking in English, using authentic materials, technology, English speaking space, and self-discipline. The practical implications of the study are discussed, and recommendations for further research in similar areas are suggested.vi
