Attitude is considered as an essential factor influencing language performance and received considerable attention from researchers. Achievement in language learning usually depends on both learners’ ability and attitude. Thus, the present study aims to shed light on the attitudes towards studying English of non-English majored freshmen at Tay Do University in three aspects: cognitive, behavioral and emotional. Thank to the findings, several potential ways can be found to support students in improving their English. A total of 60 non-English majored freshmen participated in the study, and the data were collected through a survey questionnaire and an interview. Regarding the three aspects of attitude, the participants showed positive cognitive, behavioral and emotional attitudes towards learning English. However, these aspects of attitudes were a bit different, the students’ behavioral attitudes were slightly higher than that of the other two aspects. Practical implications and recommendations for further research in similar areas are then mentioned.vi
