Abstract: It is true that writing is a well-known aspect of language learning. Writing, like any other skill, requires much practice before students can acquire a particular degree of proficiency. Several studies have proved how difficult it is to learn to write. However, relatively few studies have considered students' attitudes regarding writing. As a result, the purpose of this study was to look into the attitudes of English majored freshmen at Tay Do University toward the process of writing. The sample for this study comprised of 36 male and female English students from class English 17A at Tay Do University. A questionnaire and an interview were the research instruments used to collect data for this study. The questionnaire and interview results revealed that the participants' attitudes about English writing were slightly positive. They still had negative opinions about their writing abilities, despite the fact that the students were still willing to learn writing and saw it as a useful skill to have in the future.
