One of the most important skills for communicating in real life is the ability to listen. It is becoming increasingly vital to develop this skill when studying a foreign language. Everyone understands that hearing a message is not the same as listening to it, therefore the listener must comprehend the message and respond appropriately. The thesis will study how to improve Listening Skills for first year English Majors. The findings of the study will promote English majors in improving their listening abilities. More significantly, the research helps me in determining the root causes of the issues so that I may devise effective solutions. I did my hardest to write this thesis based on my personal experiences and knowledge of English teaching methods in the hopes of improving student's listening skills.vi
